A pleasant and highly efficient flight from Lufthansa. It's nice to see that their air hostesses are now buxom young blondes dressed in traditional Bavarian costume, who bring large steins of foaming lager to the passengers throughout the flight. The stewards, meanwhile, are dressed in Lederhosen and they sing, slap their thighs and play the tuba. All makes for an entertaining flight!
There was a very friendly middle-aged woman from the UK sitting next to me on the plane. We exchanged a few pleasantries and at one stage she put her hand on my leg. It was then that I realised it was in fact Anne, my wife of 30 years.
Our Venice Beach house is a calm oasis of Zen, all sliding doors, muted greys (I counted around 50 shades), pebbles, water features and Buddha statues. Not too far to the beach with all its shops, bars and local nutters. Off to investigate Santa Monica today (which unfortunately has a guitar shop).
